Dan  and Mary O’Connor Braman House

902 West Stayton Avenue

In 1938, Dan and Mary O’Connor Braman hired John M. Marriott, a San Antonio architect, to design a home for them on land purchased by D. H. Braman from Clara J. Wolff on August 24,1897. The property, approximately 5.5 acres, is located on a full city block bordered by North Street, Stayton Avenue, West Street, and Bluff Street. At the time of construction, this home was not in the city limits of Victoria. The original 1938 home encompassed approximately 4,108 square feet. There was an addition made in 1954 that enlarged the home to approximately 18,000 square feet.

Additional history of this home can be found on pages 13 through 17 of Historic Homes of Victoria, Volume II, available at the Victoria Preservation, Inc. office or here online in our SHOP.
